Work With Me

How Do I Know I'm Ready for an Editor?

You'll know you are ready for an editor when you've reached the limit of what you can do yourself, but you know there's still room for growth. This is where an editor comes in! I can offer a fresh perspective and help you improve your manuscript even more.

For the developmental edit and the manuscript evaluation, you should have a completed draft, and, in order to get the most out of my services, I recommend completing a few rounds of self-edits on your own.

How Do I Know We're a Good Fit?

Before you reach out, I highly suggest reviewing my sample comments and editorial letter, and my testimonials page.

Here are the genres that I specialize in:

  • Fantasy

  • Romance (any spice level)

  • Adventure

  • Historical Fiction

  • Paranormal

If I didn't list your genre, that's no problem! You can still fill out the form. If for any reason I feel like I can't properly address your manuscript, I will let you know right away.

My Availability

I currently have open availability beginning in November 2024.

If you'd like to schedule services for later in the year, please let me know on the form.

To take advantage of the special introductory pricing (up to 30% off), please be sure to submit your interest form before Tuesday, 31 December 2024 @ 11:59PM.

Still Have Questions?

Check out my FAQ, or feel free to send me a message.

You should also check out my cancellation policy and my privacy policy. I also have a page detailing the timeline and process.

If you are curious how my rates compare to others in the industry, you should check out this helpful guide from the Editorial Freelancers Association.

Okay, I'm Ready!

Just fill out an interest form to request a sample edit (if applicable) and start the process!

I'll aim to respond within 3 business days (unless otherwise stated).

What happens next?

I'll reach out by email to request any additional details and provide a preliminary quote.

If you asked for a sample edit, I will also provide a complementary edit of 1,000 words. The sample edit will include in-document comments and a short (1-2 page) editorial letter. This will allow us both to ensure that we are a great fit for one another.

Note: Because of the nature of the edit, a sample edit is not available if you are interested in only "The First 5K" service. You can, however, view a generic sample edit to get a feel for my style.

After I provide the sample edit and preliminary quote, it's your time to decide! If you tell me yes, we can move forward with a contract, which will detail the price, time frame, and services offered. This is also when I'll invoice you for the deposit, which will be 33% of your project total (or $50, for First 5K clients).

If you'd like to know more about my editing/invoicing process, check out this guide.
